Try The Harpsichord

Open Day 7th September 2024
Whitley Bay Music Rooms, Coquet Ave, NE26 1EE
Slots from 10:00am - 4:00pm

What to Expect...

The open days are aimed at pianists of any age or ability who are interested in exploring the harpsichord, with a view to starting lessons in September 2024.

Anyone who is interested in trying the harpsichord is encouraged to book a session. Adults and children are equally welcome to come to the studio for a 1-1, 30 minute session where two of our harpsichords will be available for you to try for FREE!

You will be able to see how the harpsichord works, hear one played live and feel for yourself the difference between piano and the harpsichord

This opportunity might suit people who have already had lessons on piano first, but this is not essential! If you have an interest in history, or even better, the history of music, then this might also interest you. Most harpsichord music dates from the 17th & 18th centuries, so expect music from this period in your session. This is an opportunity to take your interest in music in a very unusual direction, so if you're one of those people who likes to stand out from the crowd, then this might be up your street. Harpsichord lessons might also be of particular interest to those studying GCSE or A-Level music too.

If you're unsure, just drop me a message. I'd love to hear from anyone who is genuinely interested.
